Sound & Audio
I have over fourteen years of experience with live and recorded sound reinforcement and amplification, including, but not limited to:
Wireless microphones for musical theatre
Pit Amplification
Stage and pit monitoring
Audio playback with Q-Lab
Audio System design, assembly, and repair
Audio cable creation, maintenance, and repair
Digital and Analog mixing boards, including the Behringer X series and the Yamaha M and LS series
Recording, editing, and playback with a variety of recording software and systems
Full show sound design including environmental sounds, spot effects, underscoring, and reinforcement
Live music mixing including Big Band, Jazz, Rock, and Bluegrass
I have spent the last twelve years mentoring students through the sound design process, including system design and implementation, on shows ranging from Oklahoma! and The Tempest to The Three Penny Opera and live broadcast radio shows.
I created a series of sound design classes from scratch for a theatre major with no sound design program at the time of my arrival, and had my several of my students go on to be resident sound designers and A1's and A2's with regional and touring theatre companies.
I try to instill a logical and practical design and troubleshooting process in my students in order to minimize surprises and avoid problems during the production. I lead them though planning, research, system design, audio generation, editing, compilation, and playback, with detailed paperwork to ensure proper execution.

Below is a series of sound files I designed for UNK's production of Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice.
Along with various spot effects and environmental sounds, our Music Composition Professor, Anthony Donofrio, wrote an original theme for our production, which I then voiced in MIDI with various instruments and effects. The final show, run in Q-Lab, ran for over 110 cues, with a six channel surround mix.
