Directing
My goal when directing is to create a tightly unified production where the design elements, acting moments, and stage blocking work seamlessly together to create a natural flow of action and emotion onstage.
I strive to help actors create characters though whom blocking feels natural and justified, and then couple that with the kind of design that allows the story to progress naturally, even if the production is non-realistic.

Rashomon by Fay Kanin and Michael Kanin
I kept this production in the traditional period and locale, while introducing increasing levels of stylization as the various versions of the story became more tainted with lies and untruths.

The Shorty Hawkins Play by Nate Eppler
A companion piece to Our Town, I staged this production in the round with minimal scenery, but with a two level platform system which allowed for dynamic movement, lighting, and staging.
